ARK HOW TO PLAY AS A DINO Ark Survival Evolved Play As A Dino Mod
In Ark Survival Evolved there is a mod to do almost anything your heart wishes. If the mundane life is starting to bore you, and your mind is fantasizing of other amazing actions, like running as fast a Raptor or exploring the deepest seas as a Mosasaur, you are reading the right article. There are two ways of making this fantasy come true, and they aren’t even that hard.
Firstly, you can install the “ Play as Dino” mod from Steam. You will be able to play as 80 different creatures that can run, swim and even fly. The other way involves no mods, just a simple trick. You can use commands to your advantage and hide your rider to make it feel exactly like you are the creature you’re riding.
How it works:
- Download the “Play as Dino” mod from Steam
- If you want to use commands, start by using a command to force tame your dinosaur without a saddle. Type in the cheat “forcetame”
- After managing to ride it, type in the cheat “ hideriders true” and watch your character disappear. You are a dinosaur now!

Important: I recebtly rebuild the Play As Dino mod. This version should bemore stable and comes with more admin controll. There is an admin menu allowing you to block dinos in game and change breeding stats of individual dinos. It also allows breeding as almost every dino (vanilla and modded) and can be selected via the spawn menu. This mod will not be updated until I think the new mod can replace this one.
So for frequent updates and a better experience I recommend checking out the V2 mod:

Important Notes:
-The mod needs to be first in load order to work, it changes a lot of the core game files.
-Before creating a new dino, make sure to backup the world as you will lose the old character!
-When you have a problem, bug or feedback don’t post it on this page, but in the right discussion. Also give more information than just ‘It doesn’t work!’. Than i am able to help and fix the problem.
-Currently in the mod you are just an invisible player riding the dino. This is because of the limitations of the Dev Kit, maybe in the future this will change.
-I can only add creatures that are in the Dev Kit, so creatures that just have been released can’t be added. No worries, because I am going to add most of the new creatures.

I understand that this may seem like a joke but I really can’t wait for an update so this is a trick of mine to fill in the time. This is the most bootleg option available and though you may not leave satisfied… it’s the closest we have right now.

Ok assuming you have made it inside the game Select Create New Character/Dino and you should be on the character selection screen. After that Click on the top left “ALL” Button so that way we enable what we need further.
Search This In The Search Bar. “Mesopithecus” without quotations silly monkey.
This is not Ba-Ba-Boon but I will help you further my red booty friend.
Select it, pick the colors you like and Spawn anywhere you like.
Step 3
Now that your in the world it’s time for a quick and simple cheat command.
Hit tab to open the console and type This is exactly because it is Upper Case sensitive I believe. “ChangeSize 2” The Number after “ChangeSize” represents the level of size and 1 represents the normal size (In case you want to change back). You can also set the size to in between numbers for example “ChangeSize 1.2” In my experience 2 is a bit too big but the Ba-Ba-Boon is not small either so it depends on what you want.
Hit enter and it should instantly change size. Change the size to whatever you like for more monke.

Description:
This is the beta of Play As Dino V2, this is a reworked version of the original Play As Dino mod. Most of the changes are under the hood, so the mods look and play very simular. However this mod comes with many improvements including:
–Admin menu: allows admins to disable dinos on the fly and change the breeding stats
–Playing and Breeding as almost all dinos (vanilla and modded) and easier to select
–Sleeping: gives increased stamina and health regen
–Building custom structures: you can built your own food storage or den as a dino
The V2 version will launch with less dinos than the orignal to focus more on the quality of the features, the dinos will slowly be added until it matches the orignial version. When the version is bug free it will replace the original version on the main mod page. When posting feedback please tell me if you are playing on singleplayer or multiplayer, which dino you are playing as and when it issue occurs.
